Fatal Auto Accidents in Maryland
Maryland experiences over 100,000 reported automobile collisions each year, many of which result in significant injuries to those involved. Regrettably, the negligence and carelessness of drivers often lead to automobile accidents that leave the victim severely harmed. Key factors contributing to accidents throughout the state include:
- Impaired Driving: The influence of alcohol, drugs, or medications impairs a driver's coordination, judgment, and their ability to react to objects or vehicles in the road, which can significantly increase the risk of accidents.
- Distracted Driving: When drivers take their focus from the road ahead due to texting, talking on the phone, eating, or other distractions, they are more likely to commit critical errors that can lead to severe and life-altering accidents.
- Reckless Driving: Actions like tailgating, changing lanes in a reckless manner, and failure to yield continue to be major contributors to severe accidents in Maryland.
